Tucson, AZ – The Cal State Bakersfield softball team played in Phoenix last night dropping both games versus a very talented Grand Canyon team. The Roadrunners faced another tough opponent in the Arizona Wildcats, the #16 team in the nation.
 
CSUB 1, Arizona 9

• Kirsten Martinez was able to hold Arizona scoreless through two innings.
• In the bottom of the third, Arizona was able to break the tie scoring on a bases-loaded walk, and then an unassisted groundout to first.
• Maya Williams hit a single through the left side with one out in the top of the fourth, but a line drive out off the bat of Samantha Martinez doubled them up to end the inning.
• The Wildcats broke the game open with a Grand Slam in the bottom frame of the fourth, making the score 7 – 0.
• Karissa Munsey hit a solo home run snapping Bakersfield's scoreless inning streak.
