  • Title
    Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
Bailey Montgomery enters his first year at Cal State Bakersfield in Fall of 2024. Montgomery serves as the Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach for the Roadrunner baseball program.

Montgomery came to Bakersfield with a wealth of knowledge in the baseball industry, both at the professional and collegiate levels. Most recently, he spent the previous year working as the Camp Coordinator for the University of Michigan Baseball Program. Montgomery worked alongside the Michigan baseball program and its coaching staff in day-to-day operations for the camps as well as recruiting efforts.

Montgomery has also spent four years as an Assistant Coach including the 2022 and 2023 seasons at Miami University (Ohio). During his time with the RedHawks, Montgomery helped Miami to a program record in walks while posting some of the best offensive statistics in 20 years, including 79 home runs in 2023. He also had stops at Butler University as well as Wabash Valley College, helping WVC to a 55-4 record and No. 1 ranking in the country in 2019.

Time as an Associate Scout for Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves as well as serving as the Head Coach of the Lafayette Aviators, a summer league team for collegiate ball players, add on to Montgomery’s wealth of experience.

Montgomery earned a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University where he was a member of the Leatherneck baseball team. Prior to his time at WIU, Montgomery was part of the Wabash Valley College squad that made the NJCAA World Series.
