BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield wrestling team travels to the 54th Ken Kraft Midlands Championships this week.

Action begins on Dec. 29 at 9:30 a.m. (CT) with the day concluding at 7 p.m. (CT). Dec. 30’s wrestling begins at 12 p.m. (CT) with the finals set for 7:05 p.m. (CT). The finals will be televised on the Big 10 Network. 11 of the 33 teams scheduled to compete are ranked in the top 25, led by No. 2/3 Iowa.

The Roadrunners finished 22nd last season at the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships.

Russell Rohlfing is ranked in five polls this week after his fourth place performance at the Dec. 2-3 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Rohlfing is 11-5. Matt Williams is ranked in four polls this week. At 9-2, Williams’ highest ranking of 13th in The Open Mat poll.

Sean Nickell is ranked 16th by the Amateur Wrestling News this week at 125 pounds. Nickell leads the Roadrunners in victories with 16 (16-5). Nickell reached the consolation round of four at the Dec. 18 Reno Tournament of Champions before bowing out of the tournament. Nickell wrestled in six matches, going 4-2.  CSUB finished 18th at the RTOC (14.5).
