BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield’s women’s golf team is set to get back to competition after two weeks off when the Roadrunners host their only home event of the season. On Monday, Mar. 27, CSUB will welcome CSUN to Bakersfield Country Club for a dual against the Matadors.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host CSUN at Bakersfield Country Club for a dual match,” said Meghan Thomason, Director of Golf for the ‘Runners. “I feel really good about where the team is right now and I know they are excited to play in front of their friends and families here in Bakersfield. We are extremely grateful to BCC for allowing us to play out there. The golf course is in excellent shape, so, it should be a fun afternoon of great golf.”

The ‘Runners will host a stroke play dual against the Matadors with the traditional format of 5-count-4. The BCC course is set up long with par set at 73. CSUB’s five scoring golfers on Monday will be senior Chandler Bullman, juniors Tori Peers, Ariel Lee, and Julia Stewart, and freshman Macey Mills.

CSUB is developing a tradition of competing in duals against CSUN. The ‘Runners have hosted the Matadors at BCC each of the past two seasons. Last year, CSUN took a 305-344 victory while the Matadors edged CSUB, 301-312, in 2015.

Monday’s single round is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at noon at Bakersfield Country Club. The home event is CSUB women’s golf’s “Golden Game” as the ‘Runners will look for big crowds to cheer them on. Fans wishing to head to BCC to watch the competition are welcome to do so, but standard country club attire is required.
