BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield’s women’s swimming and diving team is set to host its second annual New Year’s Eve meet as San José State will travel to Bakersfield. The Roadrunners will dive into the pool at the Hillman Aquatic Center to take on the Spartans in a dual on Saturday, Dec. 31.

“San José is never an easy team to swim against, but each year we compete, we come closer and closer to them,” said Chris Hansen, CSUB’s Director of Swimming. “I expect some strong races. We will be depending on Paola Hernandez, Dylana Milobar, and Carlee Burks to win some events and we are hoping to see some other ladies step up.”

SJSU is a familiar foe of the ‘Runners and will represent a tough challenge this weekend. The Spartans came to Bakersfield last New Year’s Eve and snuck out a dual meet win by a score of 155.5-133.5.

The dual is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Hillman Aquatic Center. Parking is free during CSUB athletic events and admission to the swimming and diving meet is also free. ‘Runner fans can stick around after the meet to watch CSUB’s women’s basketball team take on Cal Poly at 2 p.m. in the Icardo Center.
