BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield’s men’s golf team will continue its spring season this week with the Sacramento State Invitational, Mar. 6-7, in Elk Grove, Calif.

“We are looking forward to heading to the Sacramento State Invitational this next week,” said Meggan Bunker, head coach of the CSUB men’s team. “Valley Hi Country Club is always a good challenge, and it will prove to be more so this weekend with a little rain in the forecast. There will be a lot of great teams at the tournament and I know the men are excited to play against them. They have been working hard and look forward to showcasing their games at another tournament.”

Bunker will send her five golfers for the two-day, 54-hole tournament. Junior Nathan Green leads the ‘Runners this season with a scoring average of 75.31 strokes per round. Freshman Dominick Hoover has been close behind Green at 76.18 strokes while senior Izzad Ibrahim has also averaged less than 77 strokes per 18 holes. Freshman Warren Miller and junior Garry Cai round out CSUB’s golfers for this week.

The course at Valley Hi is set up for Par 72 over 7,010 yards and will host 36 holes of golf on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. The ‘Runners will join thirteen other teams including fellow Western Athletic Conference member Grand Canyon, UC Riverside, and host Sacramento State.
