BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Roadrunner softball team has just one weekend of play left in its regular season with the Western Athletic Conference Tournament quickly approaching. Before CSU Bakersfield can defend its WAC Tournament title, the ‘Runners will head to Seattle, Wash. for a three-game conference series against Seattle U, Apr. 28-29.

The ‘Runners and Redhawks have met 15 times in their all-time series dating back to 2006. CSUB has won the last four meetings including a regular-season series sweep in Bakersfield a year ago. The series was highly-competitive as CSUB took two of the three victories in walk-off fashion.

Seattle U will welcome CSUB to the Pacific Northwest with a record of 17-27 overall and 6-6 in the WAC. The Redhawks are currently third in the conference standings and will be hoping to lock up the second seed in the WAC Tournament this weekend. Seattle is led by senior outfielder Paige Bouska, who has a .399 batting average this season. Andie Larkins is the Redhawks' go-to starting pitcher and has a 4.01 ERA with a 9-18 record.

CSUB (9-30, 2-10 WAC) is coming off of a 2-1 series loss at home against WAC-leader New Mexico State. The 'Runners rode home runs from junior Chris Hipa and freshman Karah Wiseman to a victory in the middle game of the series. Senior Jo Larios continues to lead CSUB at the plate with a .286 batting average while Hipa is close behind at .283. Junior pitcher Summer Evans earned a pair of victories in the circle for the 'Runners last week.

CSUB and Seattle U will open the WAC series with a doubleheader on Friday, Apr. 28. Both games will be live streamed on while Saturday's series finale will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network. Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 4 p.m. while Saturday's game has a 2 p.m. first pitch. Links to live stats and the live streams can be found at the CSUB softball schedule page.
