LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The Western Athletic Conference announced the 2017 All-WAC softball teams, as voted on by the league's head coaches, on Wednesday night. At the conclusion of the WAC softball banquet, two of CSU Bakersfield's student-athletes earned All-WAC honors: Chris Hipa and Kaylynn Burt.

Hipa, a sophomore from Aiea, Hawai'i, followed up her Second Team All-WAC award from 2016 with a First Team nod in 2017. The third baseman led all ‘Runners with a batting average of .442 and seven RBI during WAC play en route to her second league honors in as many years.

Burt, a junior from Fresno, Calif., earned her first All-WAC honor with a Second Team award after a successful season of WAC play. The outfielder was second on the team with a .353 clip, led the ‘Runners with a .647 slugging percentage, and reset the CSUB Division I single-season steals record along the way with 16.

The Roadrunners will open the WAC Tournament Thursday, May 11, at 10 a.m. (PT) with a first-round matchup against UMKC.
