AGOURA HS: Derek Johnson made a name for himself in the discus and hammer throws at Agoura High School...worked his way to a No. 3 national ranking in the discus throw in 2007...earned All-American, all-county and All-Marmonte League honors for his performance...set the Chargers’ school record in the discus with a mark of 205-5...that mark was also good for the league and county record, and a top 10 ranking in the state...helped lead Agoura High to league, county and state championships in 2007.

PERSONAL: Johnson is an exercise science major at CSUB...plans to become a teacher.
