BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – CSU Bakersfield’s women’s soccer team is prepared for another weekend of home and away action. The Roadrunners will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to face UNLV on Friday, Sept. 16, before heading home to host Idaho on Sunday.

“It's another exciting weekend for our program as we face tough opposition who will challenge us to be at our best,” said Gary Curneen, Head Coach of the ‘Runners. “We are looking to keep building on the progress we made last week, as well as improve one or two areas that we feel could make the difference in a big game. Team spirit is really good at the minute, in terms of the willingness of our players to work for each other. If we keep building on that energy and commitment, it will pay off in a big way very soon.”

The ‘Runners have met UNLV once in the two programs’ histories. The first-ever meeting was played at a neutral site on Aug. 30, 2009. The Rebels outlasted CSUB in that match, taking the victory 2-1. UNLV comes into the week with a record of 5-2-0, but has lost two of its last three matches including a 2-1 defeat on the road to Utah Valley.

CSUB and Idaho first met during the 2007 season and have met a total of four times in the series history. The ‘Runners won the first two matchups, both of which went to overtime. The Vandals earned their first win against CSUB in 2010, but the ‘Runners won the most recent meeting in 2013 by a 1-0 score. Idaho is 3-2-2 on the season, beat Grand Canyon 3-1 in August, and is unbeaten in each of its last three matches.

The game against UNLV is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Johann Field in Las Vegas while CSUB will kick off against Idaho at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The Rebels will stream the match live the Mountain West Network while CSUB will be on the WAC Digital Network against Idaho.
