BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield women’s basketball team begins its final week at home Thursday when the Roadrunners host Utah Valley. Coverage on the WAC Digital Network begins at 7 p.m.

Thursday night is CSUB's Play4Kay Pink Game. First 300 fans receive a pink t-shirt as CSUB has been conducting a coin drive to raise funds for Breast Cancer research.

Utah Valley defeated UMKC and Chicago State last week to improve to 8-16 overall, 3-6 in WAC play.  Sam Lubcke averaged a double-double (16 ppg and 10 rpg) last week to lead the Wolverines. UVU features two players (Taylor Gordon-14.8 and Mariah Seals-13.4) in the top 10 in the WAC in scoring. Gordon is eighth in the league in rebounding (6.4). CSUB defeated Utah Valley 63-59 in overtime Jan. 21 to take a 11-4 all-time series lead.

With just three weeks left in the regular season, teams are beginning to battle for seeding across the conference. Seattle U looks to remain among the conference leaders this weekend as the Redhawks, along with Utah Valley, travel to Grand Canyon and CSU Bakersfield. UT Rio Grande Valley will try to be the first WAC team to knock on NM State on Saturday in Las Cruces while Chicago State travels to Kansas City for a WAC doubleheader against UMKC at Municipal Auditorium.

Jazmyne Bartee broke the CSUB Division I school record for most blocks in a season at NM State with four. The 6-2 center has blocked 55 shots entering this week’s play. The old CSUB mark was 52 set by Janae Coffee during the 2012-13 season. The overall CSUB school record is Jessi Loring’s 56, tallied during the 2005-06.
