BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield women’s basketball team (7-11, 2-2 WAC) returns to the Icardo Center Thursday night when the Roadrunners host Chicago State. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. and will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network.

Chicago State fell to 0-19, 0-5 in the WAC after losing 57-46 at home to UT Rio Grande Valley last Saturday. Jessica Cerda led the Cougars in the game with 17 points. Chicago State’s Kaylee Allen is fifth in the conference in scoring (14.3) and seventh in rebounding (6.7). CSU has lost 26 in a row dating back to Feb. 4, 2016 when Chicago State defeated Seattle U 57-49. CSUB leads the all-time series against the Cougars 9-1.

CSU Bakersfield’s Jazmyne Bartee was named Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 16 through Jan. 22. Bartee, a junior post from Chandler, Ariz. (Chandler HS), was a perfect 10-for-10 from the field in an overtime win at Utah Valley. The transfer from UNLV finished the game with 23 points, adding 13 rebounds and a WAC season-high eight blocks as the ‘Runners outlasted the Wolverines in Orem.

Bartee became the third CSUB player in the Division I era to finish perfect from the floor. Her 100% shooting performance is only the third of the year in all of Division I (min. 10 made). Bartee’s eight blocks are second most in a game for the ‘Runners in their Division I history. The total is the ninth most in a game by a Division I player this season. Bartee led the Roadrunners to a new school record with 13 blocks against Utah Valley. The 13 blocks are the 10th most in a game by a Division I team this season.

The 6-2 center is the WAC leader in blocked shots (2.3). Her 42 blocks are the second most in a season by a Roadrunner at the Division I level. Janae Coffee holds the CSUB D-1 record for blocks in a season with 52 (2012-13). Bartee is 26th in Division I in blocks and blocked shots per game. As a team, CSUB begins the week 29th in blocked shots per game (5.3) and 38th in blocked shots (96).
