HANOVER, N.H.- The CSUB Roadrunners will play basketball the furthest they ever have from Bakersfield when they take on the Dartmouth Big Green Tuesday at 7 P.M. (ET) in their final non-conference tune up before opening Western Athletic Conference play this weekend.

The ‘Runners, who lost consecutive games for the first time this season following their 62-60 overtime loss at UC Santa Barbara, are looking to get back into the win column 2,966 miles from Bakersfield at Leede Arena in Hanover, N.H. This is the furthest the Roadrunners have ever played from Bakersfield, the previous record was the NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances by the Roadrunners that were held in Springfield, Mass., 2,917 miles east of Bakersfield. CSUB is 1-5 this season in road games.

This is the second meeting between CSUB and Dartmouth with the Roadrunners claiming a 69-62 win over the Big Green in Bakersfield last December. The ‘Runners were led by Dedrick Basile’s 21 points in that game, Dartmouth was led by Evan Boudreaux who scored 14 to lead the Big Green. Both players return for the rematch on the East Coast on Tuesday.

Dartmouth opened the season 0-9 but are in the midst of a three-game winning streak after victories over LIU Brooklyn, Bryant and most recently 63-61 over in-state rival New Hampshire on New Year’s Eve. The Big Green were the benefactors of a three-pointer from freshman Brendan Barry with 2.8 seconds left to earn the win. Boudreaux leads the Big Green with 16.5 ppg while sophomore guard Guillen Smith adds 13 per contest and junior guard Miles Wright chips in 11 per contest.

The Roadrunners enter on the heels of their first overtime loss of the season one week ago at UC Santa Barbara. The Roadrunners were stubborn defensively holding the Gauchos to just 15 first-half points before their opponents heated up in the second half from three-point range and the free-throw line. CSUB couldn’t hold a 17-point second-half lead and forced overtime with a three-pointer with eight seconds left in regulation. Both teams would be just 1-6 from the field in overtime with the Gauchos sealing the victory on a 4-8 performance from the free-throw line. The ‘Runners were led by Matt Smith’s career-high 17 points in the victory.

Damiyne Durham leads the Roadrunners with 17 ppg and remains one of the top three-point shooters in the nation as he’s currently ranked 6th with 53 three’s made this season and is 4th in the nation with a 3.08 three-pointers-made per game average. Senior guard Jaylin Airington is adding 15 ppg while Dedrick Basile is chipping in 12 per contest for the Roadrunners.

Upon their return to Bakersfield, the Roadrunners open WAC play on Saturday evening hosting Seattle U at the Icardo Center at 7 P.M.

Tuesday’s game at Dartmouth can be heard on 1230 AM/98.1 FM ESPN beginning at 3:30 P.M. (PT) with the Dignity Health Pregame Show. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 P.M. Pacific. Live video is also available via the Ivy League Digital Network.
