PROVO, Utah- The CSUB Roadrunners (8-4) look to extend their winning-streak to four games on Thursday night as they face one of their toughest road challenges in the BYU Cougars (8-4) at the Marriott Center at 7 P.M. (MT).

The ‘Runners are coming off a 105-78 win over Bethesda one week ago, it was the second-highest point total for CSUB at the Division I level as five players finished in double digits for Bakersfield led by a career-high 30 from Dedrick Basile. CSUB’s most-recent winning streak started on Dec. 5 at Northern Arizona, their first true-road win of the season.

The Roadrunners are averaging 89 ppg over the last three games and despite allowing over 75 points in two of those three games they remain one of the best defensive teams in the NCAA allowing just 61.9 ppg which ranks 22nd in the NCAA. CSUB is also 9th in the nation with 109 steals and is 11th in the country forcing an average of 18 turnovers per game.

Sophomore wing Damiyne Durham is leading CSUB with 17.5 ppg, he is also ranked third in the NCAA with 49 made three-pointers this season. He is joined by senior forward Jaylin Airington’s 16 ppg while senior guard Dedrick Basile is adding 13 per contest. The Roadrunners post received new blood with the debut of Mississippi State-transfer Fallou N’Doye in the last game where he scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the win.

BYU has won three of their last four games including an 84-58 win over Idaho State on Tuesday night. The Cougars broke a five-point game open in the second half by shooting 63% from the field. They also dominated in the post outscoring Idaho State 34-14 and outrebounding the Bengals 46-29.

BYU was led by Eric Mika’s fifth double-double of the season as he scored 19 points to go with 12 rebounds. Mika is the Cougars’ leading scorer averaging 21 ppg. BYU is shooting 45% from the field and 32% from three-point range. BYU averages 85 ppg while allowing 74 per game.

Thursday’s game will be broadcast on Newstalk 1180/96.1 FM KERN beginning at 5:45 Pacific, the game will also be televised on BYU-TV (Spectrum 1445, Direct TV374, DISH 9403, AT&T Uverse 1567). Tipoff is scheduled for 6 P.M. Pacific.
