BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield director of volleyball Giovana Melo has announced the signing of Krista Hernandez to a National Letter of Intent to continue her career with the Roadrunners.

Hernandez, a 5-5 libero from Culver City High School, posted 416 digs, 84 assists, and 59 aces as team won the program's first CIF Southern Section championship during her senior season. She earned first team All-League and All-CIF honors as a junior. Hernandez was a member of the 2016 USA Volleyball High Performance Indoor Women's Junior A1 National Training team after being named an alternate to the team in 2014 and 2015.

“Krista is a great athlete,” Melo said. “She has a lot of experience indoor and on the sand. She has been a part of high performance volleyball and played in a great level. She is a great addition to our freshman class.”
