BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Roadrunner track and field teams won a combined 14 events Saturday at they hosted the Lee Adams Open at the CSUB track. Saturday’s home meet marked only time the ‘Runners will compete in Bakersfield this season.
On the men’s side, Cameron Jost won the men’s 400 meter dash in 49.0. Ryan Nichols took the 100 meters in 11.0 and finished second in the long jump with a mark of 21-1. Daniel Hernandez won the 300 meter hurdles (40.9) and was followed by teammate Brandon Washington (42.7) who took second. Steve Trojanowski won the hammer throw (188-5) and finished second in the weight throw (55-6). Clayton Morovich won the weight throw with a toss of 57-0. Derek Johnson won the men’s discus throw (152-9). The Roadrunners also captured wins in the men’s distance medley relay (10:41.6) and the 4x400 meter relay (3:25.38).
Jenah Kincaid won the women’s 300 meter hurdles in 49.2 and Connie King captured the 1,600 meter run in 5:39.1. Isabella Kasselstrand won the weight throw (39-0) and was second in the hammer throw (108-7). Both the women’s distance medley (13:50.0) and the 4x400 meter (4:10.5) relays won on Saturday.
Up next, the Roadrunners will head to Los Angeles on Sunday, Mar. 1, for the Trojan Relays.
