CSUB
2009: Martin Medina was the only Roadrunner to start all 50 games for CSUB...hit a double and a home run for six RBIs against then No. 12 Cal Poly (3/23/09)...made 13 appearances on the mound, earning his first career save in CSUB’s first-ever win, a 4-2 final over St. Louis (2/21/09)...earned his second save in a 10-8 win over Utah (2/28/09)...earned his first collegiate win in a relief appearance against Fresno State (4/7/09)...struck out two, walked one and did not allow a hit in 2 1/3 innings...four days later (4/11/09) he picked up his second win in a 15-inning marathon against UC Riverside...after playing 9 1/3 innings at first and third base, he pitched 5 2/3 innings of relief, allowing just four hits and zero walks while striking out seven...broke a four-game hitless streak by collecting a pair of hits at UC Santa Barbara (4/28/09) and against Loyola Marymount (4/29/09)...hit .285 with team highs of 13 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 40 RBIs...had two home runs in a 10-8 win over Nebraska (5/9/09).

SAINT BONAVENTURE HIGH SCHOOL
Medina prepped at Saint Bonaventure High School where he was named Tri-Valley League Pitcher of the Year in 2008...also a first team all-league and All-Ventura County selection in 2008...went 9-2 with a 1.20 ERA...also had 36 RBIs and six home runs his senior season...named team MVP in 2007…also named the 2007 All-Ventura County Pitcher of the Year and was first team All-Tri-Valley League selection…in 2007 he set school records for single-season doubles (13), single-game strikeouts (17) and single-season strikeouts (100)…led the Seraphs to four league titles and a CIF Central Section Division IV runner-up finish in 2006…team rookie of the year in 2006…2007 and 2008 Tri-County Athletic Association All-Academic Team.

SUMMER LEAGUE
Medina played for the Alaska Goldpanners of Fairbanks in the Alaska Baseball League in 2009...made four appearances on the mound, earning a 2-0 record and 4.30 ERA...also hit .234 with 33 hits in 43 games...tied the team high with 21 RBI’s...played for the SoCal Bombers in 2008...was a member of the SoCal St. Louis Cardinals scout team from 2006-07…prior to high school (in 2002), he led his Cooperstown team to a fifth place national finish.

PERSONAL
Medina has not declared a major at CSUB...lists playing professional baseball and becoming a firefighter as career plans...interests include wakeboarding, snowboarding and paintball...parents are Al and Debbie Medina...born March 29, 1990, in Ventura, Calif.
