BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Heading into the Spring finale against Stanford Saturday night, CSU Bakersfield head men’s soccer coach Richie Grant has announced the addition of Detre Bell and Warren O’Hora for the 2017 season.

Bell is a goalie who redshirted last season at the University of Connecticut. As a senior for the South Kent School (Conn.) Bell named to the 2015-16 American Family Insurance All-USA Boys Soccer Team, as announced by USA Today. He was the only player from the state of Connecticut to be named to the team. A two-time All-State selection, he ended his senior season with 14 shutouts in leading South Kent to a New England Prep Class B state title. He concluded career with a 0.20 goals against average. Bell has national experience as he served as a member of the Bermuda U-20 Men’s National Team and has made an appearance with the full national team.

“Detre is a quality young man,” Grant said. “He has valuable national team experience and he is determined to play after redshirting at UCONN.”

O’Hora played on the club level for the Bohemians FC U-19 program. A defender, he was called up to Ireland’s U-18 National Team earlier this month.

“Warren is a top defender and we are delighted he will be joining our program in August,” said Grant. “He is very focused on both his academic and football development, and we are confident that he will continue to improve here at CSUB.”

Saturday night’s match against Stanford is the “Kicks for a Cause” game for the Roadrunner program. Fans are encouraged to bring a piece of gently used soccer equipment to the game. The Cardinal Head Coach is Jeremy Gunn, a former CSUB All-American and assistant coach.
