SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -Tyler Iwamura (R-Jr., San Diego, Calif., Santa Fe Christian HS) won the 125-pound title to highlight CSU Bakersfield wrestling action Saturday at the 36th annual California Collegiate Open, hosted by San Francisco State.  There were no team scores.

Iwamura was 3-0 on the day, defeating the No. 2 seed, Cal Baptist’s Jaime Martinez 2-0 to claim the championship. Iwamura leads the Roadrunners in victories with 19.
Frank Lomas (R-Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) and Dalton Kelley (R-So., Alamosa, Colo., Alamosa HS) each posted second place finishes for CSUB.  Lomas was the runner-up at 133 pounds, losing to Boise State’s Brian Owen 6-3 in the finals. Kelley made it to the 141-pound finals before falling to Cal Baptist’s Bradford Gerl.

Adam Fierro (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) placed third at 165 pound while Anthony Box (R-Sr., 157, Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) and Jesus Ambriz (Fr., 174, Vista, Calif., Rancho Buena Vista HS) turned in fourth place showings.

Bryce Hammond (Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) who is redshirting his true freshman season won the 174-pound championship.  Hammond, the No. 2 seed, defeated the No. 1 seed, Oregon State’s John Tuck 7-5 in the finals.

The Roadrunners will round out the regular season by sending limited entries to the Feb. 11 Edinboro Open.  The Pac 12 Championship is set for Feb. 26 at Boise State.
