BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield director of swimming Chris Hansen has announced the addition of TCU transfer Lauren Kaufman to the women’s roster.

Kaufman is a sophomore from Renton, Wash. who has posted career best times of :23.31 in the 50 free and :51.26 in the 100 free.  Those times would be in the top three in CSUB history. She was a member of TCU’s school record and NCAA `B’ cut 200 free relay team (1:31.99).

“Lauren was a great last minute catch,” Hansen said. “She will be a leader in our sprint core and will make an immediate impact in our relays and in our sprint events.  After losing Rachel McCall to graduation this year Lauren comes in as our fastest sprinter and will have to fill in Rachel’s void.  She will be a contender in the WAC this year.  With our sprint training I expect big things from Lauren.”

Hansen has hired Tyler Dorhorst to become the Roadrunners’ diving coach. Dorhorst, a Bedford, Texas native, was a three-year letterwinner as a diver at the University of Wisconsin. As a coach, he has worked with divers at his alma mater as well as club teams in Texas and Wisconsin.

“Tyler brings in great experience not only as a diver but as a coach,” Hansen said. "He helped with University of Wisconsin as well has club teams in Texas and Wisconsin.  Tyler brings in the experience needed to take CSUB diving to the next level and we as lucky to have him.”

The Roadrunners open the 2012-13 season Oct. 20 with a dual against Seattle University.
