BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Roadrunner men’s golf team is prepared for its second tournament of the busy month off October. CSU Bakersfield’s squad will travel to Simi Valley, Calif. for the Cullum Invitational put on by CSUN, Oct. 17-18, at the Wood Ranch Golf Course.
“We are very excited about the Cullum Invitational this next week,” said Meggan Bunker, Head Coach of CSUB’s men’s team. “After our final day at the Nick Watney Invite, we have been eager to get back to tournament play. We are ready to prove something this next week.”
Bunker is sending her top five ‘Runners to Simi Valley on Monday. Nathan Green has led the ‘Runners all season and continued to do so in qualifying. Freshmen Warren Miller and Dominick Hoover qualified behind Green and will be joined by senior Izzad Ibrahim and sophomore Michael Mahlberg as well.
The tournament will feature a total of 15 teams including CSUB, UC Riverside, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, Pacific, and fellow Western Athletic Conference member Seattle U. The teams will walk Wood Ranch’s Par 72, 6,849-yard course for the two-day, 54-hole tournament.
The ‘Runners will kick off the Cullum Invitational Monday morning with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. CSUB and the rest of the field will play 36 holes on Monday before wrapping up the tournament with a final round on Tuesday. The last 18 holes will also be a shotgun start, commencing at 8 a.m. Live stats are available for this tournament via GolfStat.com.
