BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The CSU Bakersfield men’s golf team will take on its second tournament of the season as the Roadrunners are prepared for the Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State next week.

“We are really looking forward to Fresno State’s invitational this coming week,” said Meggan Bunker, CSUB’s head coach. “The men have been working hard since our own invitational and we are ready to compete against an amazing group of teams. We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish.”

CSUB’s men’s team is still looking for a clear leader in the 2016-17 season as the ‘Runners had a three-way tie for first in the opening tournament of the season. Senior Izzad Ibrahim, junior Nathan Green, and freshman Dominick Hoover all came into the clubhouse at Bakersfield Country Club with identical scores of 229 to finish tied for eighth overall.

Joining the trio in Fresno, Calif. this week will be freshman Warren Miller and sophomore Michael Mahlberg. Both men contributed to the team score at the CSUB Roadrunner Invitational in mid-September and will look to contribute again in Fresno.

The Nick Watney Invitational is scheduled for Oct. 3-4 at San Joaquin Country Club. The 15-team field will play 54 holes of golf over two days with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday and staggered starts on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. Live scoring can be found at and full results and a recap will be posted on at the end of each day of competition.
