BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After a four-year hiatus, a collegiate tournament returns to CSU Bakersfield as the CSUB Roadrunner Invitational is set to get started on Monday. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature four teams battling at Bakersfield Country Club Sept. 19-20.

“We are thrilled to be representing CSUB for this season,” said Meggan Bunker, CSUB’s head coach. “We are really looking forward to the CSUB Roadrunner Invitational. We start our season off with our Invitational next week and I expect big things from the men on the team.”

Three other teams will be joining the Roadrunners in East Bakersfield this week: fellow Western Athletic Conference member UT Rio Grande Valley, UC Riverside, and Menlo College. All three teams will send five student-athletes as representatives while the ‘Runners will have five men and an individual competing in the tournament.

CSUB will be led by junior Nathan Green, who returns as CSUB’s leading scorer from a year ago. Joining Green this week will be senior Izzad Ibrahim and a trio of newcomers. Warren Miller, Michael Mahlberg, and Dominick Hoover will be making their ‘Runner debuts on Monday. Junior Garry Cai will also be competing as an individual for CSUB.

The Invitational will take place on Bakersfield Country Club’s beautiful course. The links are laid out over 6,822 yards and are set at par 72. Play will begin at 8 a.m. both mornings with a shotgun start. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday follow by a third and final round on Tuesday.
