BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield women’s basketball team opens Western Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon when the Roadrunners travel to Seattle U for a 2 p.m. start. The game will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network.

Under first year head coach Suzy Barcomb, Seattle U is 3-12 to begin conference play. Seattle U’s Alexis Montgomery leads the WAC in scoring with a 15.9 points per game average. Montgomery is sixth in the league in rebounding (6.8), ninth in field goal shooting (.438), 11th in assists (2.3), and 14th in steals (1.6). The Roadrunners lead the all-time series 13-4 and have won five in a row dating back to the 2013-14 season.

When CSU Bakersfield defeated Cal Poly 57-49 Dec. 31, it marked the 100th victory for the Roadrunners in the Icardo Center. Since beginning play in the Icardo Center in 2000, the Roadrunners are 100-38 (a .726 winning percentage) at home. CSU Bakersfield played home games in Rabobank Arena from 2000-2009, going 65-8 in downtown Bakersfield. CSUB is 165-37 all-time at home (.782 winning percentage).

Entering this week’s action, CSU Bakersfield leads the conference in free throw percentage (.750) and three-point field goals made (7.9). Erika Williams is the top three-point shooter (.471) in the league.
