BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield will travel to Los Angeles Wednesday night when the Roadrunners head to Loyola Marymount for a 6 p.m. start. Coverage is available on the TheW.tv.
Loyola Marymount is 13-10 and will visit UC Irvine Tuesday night before hosting the Roadrunners on Wednesday. Second baseman Phil Caulfield was named WCC Hitter of the Week on Monday. Caufield went 7-for-12 as the Lions took 2-of-3 from BYU over the weekend. He posted three runs, a double, a homer and four runs batted in. Cory Abbott earned WCC Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing a perfect game over the weekend against BYU.
Grand Canyon swept CSU Bakersfield in the WAC series opener for both schools in Phoenix last weekend. Max Carter hit .429 during the series with three RBI’s. He was the hard luck loser on the mound in the opener. He no-hit Grand Canyon for 5.1 before only giving up four hits in 7.2 innings as the ‘Runners dropped a 3-2 decision.
Both teams have not named a probable starter for Wednesday night’s game.
