BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-CSU Bakersfield (13-6) swept a doubleheader from Northern Colorado (4-10) Saturday at Hardt Field.

Oscar Sanay (Jr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS), Jordie Hein (So., Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS), and Mylz Jones (Fr., Palmdale, Calif., Paraclete HS) all both posted three hits as CSUB defeated the Bears 9-0 in the opener. Hein drove in two runs while Jones had one RBI.

Cael Brockmeyer (Jr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) charted two hits and three runs scored. Sanay and Hein both drove in two runs. Eight of the nine CSUB runs were scored with two outs. Scott Brattvet (Sr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Santa Ana College) went the distance to record his fourth victory of the year (4-0). Brattvet allowed four hits and retired 22 of the final 25 he faced.

In the nightcap, Brockmeyer's single with one out in the bottom of the ninth gave the Roadrunners a 4-3 walk-off victory.

Hein reached on an error to open the bottom of the ninth. Dylan Christensen (Sr., Racho Santa Margarita, Calif., Saddleback College) singled up the middle to bring up Kevin Younger (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) who reached on a bunt single to load the bases.

Tyler Shryock (Jr., Tehachapi, Tehachapi HS) grounded into a 6-2 fielders choice for the first out. Brockmeyer went opposite field (to right) for the game winning hit.

CSUB took the lead 1-0 on a passed ball in the bottom of the third. Northern Colorado scored its first run of the series (21.2 innings) when Joe Love's RBI single plated Ben Packard with two outs in the top of the fourth.

Frank Martinez (Sr., Riverside, Calif., East LA College) returned the lead to CSUB when he singled in Jones in the bottom of the fourth. Harrison Lambert's single with two outs in the fifth made it 3-2 in favor of the Bears.

Brockmeyer became the 12th CSUB player to walk three times in a game. Two of those walks were intentional. Younger, Shyrock, and Jones had two hits.

The series between the future WAC foes concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
