DAVIS, Calif.- Cael Brockmeyer (Jr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) hit his first two home runs of the season as CSU Bakersfield overcame an early 2-1 deficit by scoring five runs in the third as they cruised to an 12-5 win Saturday at UC Davis.

The Roadrunners won their seventh game in their last eight opportunities as CSUB combined for 12 runs on a school record 23 hits as they exploded for over 10 runs for the second game in a row. Brockmeyer was 4-for-6 with four runs batted in and three scored for CSUB. He tied the school record for most home runs in a game (with five others) broke the school mark for most total bases in a game (10) that was previously held by two others at nine.

Tyler Shryock (Jr., Tehachapi, Calif., Desert Christian HS) was 4-for-7 with an RBI. Kevin Younger (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) went 3-for-4 with three RBI's. Garrett Pierce (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Centennial HS), and Chance Gusbeth (Fr., Lancaster, Calif., Desert Christian HS) both posted three hits. The Roadrunners' 23 hits broke the old record of 22 that was recorded Apr. 7, 2009 against Fresno State. Seven of the nine CSUB starting offensive players registered at least two hits.

Scott Brattvet (Sr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Santa Ana College) threw six and two-thirds innings allowing five runs on nine hits before being replaced by Hayden Carter (So., San Diego, Calif., Vista HS) in the Aggies half of the seventh. Carter and Taylor Aikenhead (Jr., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) combined to allow one hit in 2.1 innings of relief. Brattvet improved to 3-0 on the season with the win.

The Roadrunners have clinched the series against the Aggies and look for the series sweep Sunday at 1 p.m.
