BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Spenser Messmore (Sr., Granada Hills, Calif., Alemany HS) tossed a complete game five-hitter as CSU Bakersfield (8-14) defeated Air Force (6-16) 4-1 Tuesday night at Hardt Field. Messmore, who usually serves as the Roadrunners' closer, struck out seven while only walking two in the second complete game of his career.

Cael Brockmeyer (So., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) put CSUB ahead 1-0 in the fourth with a sac fly that scored Frank Martinez (Jr., Riverside, Calif., East L.A. College). A Michael Roberts RBI single tied the in the fifth.

Dylan Christensen's (Jr., Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Saddleback College) ground out which scored Andrew Letourneau (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) in the fifth proved to be the gamewinning run. Martinez recored a sac fly later in the inning to plate Jordie Hein (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz., Chapparal HS) to make it 3-1. Letourneau's bunt single in the sixth drove in Tyler Shryock (So., Tehachapi, Calif. (Desert Christian HS) for the final run of the game.

The Roadrunner victory broke an eight-game losing streak, the longest for the program since 2009, the first for the team. Letourneau had two hits.

The series concludes Wednesday at 5 p.m.
