BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Taylor Aikenhead (So., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) tossed his third complete game in as many starts to lead CSU Bakersfield past Portland 5-1 Sunday. Aikenhead scattered seven hits as he struck out five to improve to 3-0 on the year. Aikenhead walked only one batter.

With the game tied 1-1 in the sixth inning, Tyler Shryock (So., Tehachapi, Calif., Desert Christian HS) smacked a double to left center to score Stuart Smith (R-Jr., Ventura, Calif., Buena HS) and DC Legg (R-Sr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College) for what proved to be the go ahead runs. Legg doubled to left center in the bottom of the seventh to plate Oscar Sanay (So., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS) and Jordie Hein (Fr., Scottsdale, Ariz.,, Chaparral HS) for a set of insurance runs.

Shryock went 3-for-4 on the day while Legg went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Zack McCoy registered two hits for Portland. Michael Lucarelli drove in the lone run for the Pilots.

CSUB opens a 10-game road trip Tuesday at UC Santa Barbara. First pitch is 2 p.m.
