DAVIS, Calif. - Jonathan Montoya (Jr., Chino Hills, Calif., Chino Hills HS) threw his sixth complete game of the season as the CSUB (24-8) defeated UC Davis (8-21) by a 6-2 score Apr. 16 at Robbins Field.

The Aggies took a 2-0 lead after one. Chris Curtis (Jr., Vacaville, Calif., Solano CC) hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot, to get the 'Runners on the board in the third inning. Ryan McIntyre (Jr., Henderson, Nev., Coronado HS) tied the game game in the fourth when his single scored Cael Brockmeyer (Fr., Vineyard Haven, Mass., Avon Old Farms HS) laced a single to centerfield to plate Brockmeyer.

The 'Runners took the lead with four runs in the eighth.  DC Legg (Jr., Murrietta, Calif., Cyrpess College) got things rolling with a single up the middle.  After a sacrifice bunt and a pitching change, McIntyre walked.  Andrew Letourneau (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) singled in Legg.  Jeremy Rodriguez (Jr., Thousand Oaks, Calif., Crespi HS) singled up the middle to move everyone up 90 feet.  Martin Medina (Jr., Ventura, Calif., St. Bonaventure HS) singled to right plating Rodriguez, Letourneau and Legg.

Montoya, who improved to 7-1 on the year, struck out five. He has gone the distance six times in nine starts this season.

The 'Runners, who with the win take their seventh series of the season, go for the sweep Sunday at 1 p.m.
