LOS ANGELES, Calif.,- Adam Landecker capped a two-run ninth inning with a game-winning RBI single down the right field line as the USC Trojans beat CSU Bakersfield in walk-off fashion for the second game in a row 9-8 Saturday afternoon at DeDeaux Field.

The Roadrunners, who trailed 3-0 after the first inning, battled back to tie the game with three-runs in the fourth, they would take a 7-4 lead following a four-run fifth inning but USC managed to chip away at the lead and trailed 8-7 entering the ninth. Following a lead-off single by Kevin Roundtree on reliever Hayden Carter (Fr., San Diego, Calif., Vista HS), James Barragan (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Stockdale HS) entered the game and after retiring the first hitter he faced, hit the next two batters before walking Dante Flores to tie the game at eight.

Barragan managed to get Garrett Stubbs to pop out to center field before Landecker delivered the game-winning single that was inches fair down the right field line.

CSUB scored 8 runs on 15 hits, a season second-best in the hits department while the Trojans scored their 9 runs on 13 hits. Reliever Martin Viramontes earned the win for USC throwing one and two-thirds innings allowing just one hit while Barragan (0-3) took the loss for CSUB. Roadrunner starter Scott Brattvet (Jr., Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Santa Ana College) settled down after allowing 3 runs in the first, he threw five innings allowing five runs on seven hits striking out five.

DC Legg (Sr., Murrietta, Calif., Cypress College) was 3 for 3 on the afternoon with a pair of doubles and one RBI while Dylan Christensen (Jr., Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., Saddleback College) drove in three runs going 2 for 4 on the afternoon, he's driven in five runs during the series.

CSUB will look to avoid the sweep Sunday afternoon at 1 P.M. as they send Taylor Aikenhead (So., Lancaster, Calif., Bakersfield College) to the mound to face Stephen Tarpley for USC.
