Sklar’s single–season goal totals in 2004–06 each rank in the top 12 in CSUB’s record book, including a No. 2 rank with 15 goals scored during her senior season. She trails only current Head Coach Nicole Van Dyke (17 goals) in that category.
She also ranks No. 3 in career goals (32), No. 8 in career assists (10), No 3 in career points (74) and No. 7 in career minutes played (5,683).
Professionally, Sklar spent a season playing for the Mile High Edge of the Women’s Soccer League in Arvada, Colo., and was a member of the Claremont Stars of the Women’s Premier Soccer League in Claremont, Calif.
Sklar coaches club soccer in the offseason with the Bakersfield Brigade. She has coached U10 boys and U12 girls and most recently headed the U19 girls team. She has also worked with the Bakersfield Gunners Soccer Club.
Sklar served as the head junior varsity coach at Garces Memorial High School in Bakersfield while assisting on the varsity squad. Prior to that, she was a volunteer assistant at Golden Valley High School in Bakersfield.
“Taylar has been my right hand for the last three seasons and continues to work extremely hard for the program." said Head Coach Nicole Van Dyke. "She has been an integral part of the development of the program both on and off the field. Her commitment to me and the program is tremendous and I have enjoyed watching Taylor develop from a successful player into a successful coach.”
