BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield's Max Carter earned a pair of honors Monday as the Roadrunners conclude the non-conference portion of the 2017 schedule this week.

Carter was named WAC Pitcher of the Week (for the second time this season) and was selected as one of seven National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball. The Bakersfield native carried a perfect game late into a Western Athletic Conference baseball contest as CSU Bakersfield defeated Northern Colorado 6-0.

Carter retired the first 20 Bears' batters he faced before Jack Pauley's two-out single over the outstretched glove of Ryan Grotjohn at short in the Northern Colorado seventh. Carter gave up three hits, struck out nine and walked only one. The Roadrunner clean-up hitter, Carter was 1-for-3 with a run scored in the game. This is the second time this season Carter has been named WAC Pitcher of the Week.
