BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—After a 10-day layoff, CSU Bakersfield returns to the diamond this weekend as the Roadrunners (8-4) travel to UC Riverside for a three-game series. Friday and Saturday’s games will begin at 6 p.m. with the Sunday finale getting underway at 1 p.m. Audio coverage is available via the UCR Highlanders Network at GoHighlanders.com.

The ‘Runners lost 9-7 at Cal Poly Mar. 7 and were scheduled to travel to Creighton last weekend. However, due to weather in the Omaha area, the series was cancelled. This only the second time The only other time that CSUB lost a three-game series came during the 2011 season when the Roadrunners could not travel to the University of Minnesota when the roof of the HHH Metrodome collapsed due to snow.

The Highlanders are 10-6 after losing 10-3 to Gonzaga Tuesday night. Although UCR is only hitting .247 as a team, UC Riverside has 35 extra bases hits including 11 home runs. Cade Peters is leading a team high .353 with one home run and 10 RBI’s. Connor Cannon leads the team in home runs (3) and RBI’s (17).

Max Carter is scheduled to face righty Daniel Martinez in the Friday opener. Mahlik Jones is set to matchup against lefty on Hazahel Quijada. Isaiah Moten pitches against Alex Fagalde, a righthander, on Sunday.
