He currently serves as the primary contact for cross country, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s track and field, and softball. He also serves as the secondary contact for men’s basketball.
Comelli joined the Athletic Communications department in January of 2013 as a member of the gameday staff. Over time, he was given additional responsibilities and, in August of 2014, was signed on full time. Comelli’s responsibilities include complete coverage of the above listed sports, PA announcing for men’s soccer, softball, and baseball games as well as swimming and diving meets, managing and scheduling gameday staff, graphic design, and operating the instant replay software at men’s and women’s basketball games.
In his senior year at his alma mater, Fresno Pacific, Comelli was hired as the Sports Information Student Assistant. He spent the 2009-10 season as the only worker in the Sports Information department. During his year there, Comelli maintained the FPU Athletics website and the teams’ statistics while he also was the official scorer for baseball games. He also took on a massive project to update the sports’ record books, many of which had not been touched for four years, and create brand new record books for multiple new FPU sports including baseball.
A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Comelli graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics from Fresno Pacific in 2010.
