SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.--Bakersfield (5-6) won seven of 10 matches as the Roadrunners defeated San Francisco State (6-4) 24-12 Friday afternoon. The Gators are ranked 16th in the current Division II Top 20 Wrestling poll.

Spencer Hill (R-Jr., Clovis, Calif., Fresno City College) won the 157-pound boutl, 2-1 over Tavis Ino to get the dual underway. David Meza (R-So., Fullerton, Calif., Buena Park HS) earned a major decision (15-3) as her earned the victory at 165 over Vincente Aboytes.

Bryce Hammond (R-So., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) posted a technical fall against Calvin Nicholls at 174 pounds. Hammond needed only 4:07 to defeat Nicholls 21-5. San Franciso State 184-pounder Zach Jimenez broke the seal for the Gators as he defeated Sean Pollock (R-Jr., Oceanside, Calif., Rancho Buena Vista HS) 5-4.

Reuben Franklin (Jr., Murrieta, Calif., Vista Murrieta HS) defeated Andrew Reggi 9-4 at 197 before Sammy Cervantes (R-Sr., Chula Vista, Calif., Palomar College) earned a 4-1 decision at heavyweight against Hildelv Manzur. Marc Collier defeated Matt Correa 3-2 (R-Jr., Santa Maria, Calif., Cuesta College) at 125.

Isaiah Hurtado pinned Jose Mendoza (R-Sr., Selma, Calif., Selma HS) 43 seconds into the 133-pound match for the final San Francisco State victory of the day. Ian Nickell (R-So., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) defeated Dylan Phillpy 7-5 at 141 with Dalton Kelley (R-Sr., Alamosa, Colo., Alamosa HS) concluding the day with a 7-3 decision over Conrad Snell.

The Roadrunners return to the mat Saturday at San Francisco State when Bakersfield enters the California Collegiate open. The tournament runs all day Saturday.
