BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—Bakersfield men’s basketball will play an exhibition game against Occidental College on Nov. 2 and will play at UT San Antonio in a non-conference battle on Dec. 18 as the finishing touches of the 2013-14 schedule were finalized this week.

With the addition of the exhibition game at the Icardo Center on Nov. 2, Bakersfield will play a total of 14 home games this season split evenly between their on-campus home and Rabobank Arena downtown.

An exhibition contest returns to the schedule for the first time in two seasons, last year Bakersfield went without an exhibition game prior to the start of their regular season.

Completing Bakersfield’s schedule is a Dec. 18 road game at UT San Antonio. CSUB swept UTSA last season, winning 85-52 on Dec. 1 at Rabobank Arena and 61-52 at the Convocation Center on Feb. 12. UTSA is a former member of the Western Athletic Conference, they now compete in Conference USA. Bakersfield will compete for the first time this season in the WAC.

Bakersfield will open their non-conference schedule on Nov. 8 at Washington State at 7 P.M. in a game televised on the Pac-12 Network. CSUB will return home for a four-game home stand with their home opener scheduled for Monday, Nov. 11 against UC Merced at the Icardo Center. That will be followed by a Wednesday, Nov. 13 matchup with Sacramento State at the Icardo Center before CSUB heads to Rabobank Arena hosting Nevada on Monday, Nov. 18.  Bakersfield rounds out the early-season home stand with a Saturday, Nov. 23 matchup against Santa Clara at the Icardo Center. All home games tip at 7 P.M.

The ‘Runners will open Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday, Jan. 4 against Utah Valley at Rabobank Arena.
