BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Utah Valley posted its second consecutive 2-0 victory over Bakersfield in Western Athletic Conference women's soccer play Sunday afternoon.

The Wolverines (4-5, 2-0 WAC) got on the board in the 12th minute when Haley Curtis headed in a Lexi Dunn indirect kick. Kali Stubbs scored in the 79th minute to make it the final 2-0. The Roadrunners (1-8, 0-2 WAC) outshot Utah Valley 12-10, but the Wolverines held a 6-1 corner kick advantage.

"Our attacking and defending, both sides of the ball, was much better than Friday night. We have to put away the opportunities that we created, simple as that.," said Bakersfield head coach Melissa Phillips. "We have to continue to move forward. We have to clean up areas and move forward every day. There’s two ways to look at it: you sulk or you do something about it. We’re going to do something about it."

Bakersfield continues league play next Saturday night at Grand Canyon at 7 p.m.
