NIPMO, Calif.--Malea Miller (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College) is fourth on the women's side while Jin Park (R-Jr., Burbank, Calif., Glendale CC) is sixth in the men's competition for the Bakersfield golf programs after day one of the Firestone Grill College Invitational, hosted by Cal Poly in Nipmo.


Miller shot a four-over 75 and sits nine shots back of Cal Poly's Madison Hirsch who posted a 66 on the day.  Jordan Barr (So., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) is tied with teammate Michelle Martel (So. Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) for the 13th (81). Chandler Bullman (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif. (Frontier HS) is tied for 19th with one other player (84). Micah Lopez (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., East Bakersfield HS) is tied for 21st with one other (85). As a team, the Roadruners are fourth (321). Cal Poly "A" leads the team race with a 290.


In the season debut for the Roadrunner men, Park shot an even par 71. He is tied with Cal Poly's Alex Romo, five shots behind Claremont Mudd Scripps' Kethan Reddy (66). Brett Kettler (R-Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) is tied for eighth (72) with three others. Teammates Dylan Lym (Jr., Evanston, Wyo., Evanston HS) and Matthew DeFord (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif, Bakersfield College) are tied for 16th (76). Trevor Stan (Fr., Mission Viejo, Calif., Bakersfield Liberty HS) is 21st (81).

The tournament concludes Sunday with a shotgun start for the men at 7:20 a.m., and a shotgun start for the women at 8:30 a.m.
