On Campus 'Week of Welcome Edition'
Roadrunner Rundown, the official online television program of CSU Bakersfield Athletics completed a successful
special on-campus edition of the program on Tuesday, September 16 as part of the “Week of Welcome” festivities for students during the first week of classes at CSUB.
The program, which airs Tuesday’s from 10-11 AM on Bakersfield.com, stepped out of the studio for just the second time in its short history to make Tuesday’s broadcast a reality. The program was staged in front of the CSUB Student Union and was supported by the Office of Student Affairs and Student Involvement.
The special set featured several CSUB student-athletes and fans along with the Roadrunner wrestling team that set up mats outdoors and staged a workout in the background during the show. The Roadrunners Spirit Squads along with the mascot Rowdy were also part of the presentation.
Guests included CSUB President Dr. Horace Mitchell, interim athletic director Ziggy Siegfried, director of volleyball Giovana Melo, head men’s soccer coach Richie Grant and Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) President Derek Stotler.
“It was a great environment, with a great crowd,” said Corey Costelloe, assistant athletics director for communications and Roadrunner Rundown host. “I want to thank all the students and student-athletes for being on set along with the CSUB wrestling team and spirit squad for their great ideas in planning this show. It was a tremendous show and a big feather in the cap for our program.
Roadrunner Rundown airs as a partnership between CSUB Athletics and The Bakersfield Californian and Bakersfield.com. The online channel through the newspaper features seven other weekly and daily programs along with live sports coverage. Roadrunner Rundown is in its second season since starting in August of 2013.
