BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Three current and one former Bakersfield swimmers are entered in this week's US Open. 900 of the fastest swimmers in the world are invited to this meet which will be contested from July 30-Aug. 3 in Irvine.
The current Roadrunners entered are Gabriel Bertrand (Jr., Tibro, Sweden, Nykopingssimg Gymnasium), Tomas Bruce (Sr. Brisbane/QLD, Australia, Grossmont College), and Mitchell Huxhold (Jr., Escondido, Calif., San Pasqual HS). Bertrand will race in the 100, 200, and 400 freestyle. Bruce will also compete in the 100, and 200, and 400 freestyle. Huxhold is entered in the 200, 400, 800, and 1500 freestyles.
Former Bakersfield women's competitor, Rachel McCall is entered in the 100, 200, and 400 freestyles.
"We are super excited to have these four representing CSUB at one of the biggest meets of the year," said director of swimming Chris Hansen. "Incoming sophomore Louis Wojciehowski will also be at the meet. They will be swimming the fastest swimmers of the year."
