PORTLAND – Nine student-athletes on CSU Bakersfield’s softball team have been named to the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the 2012-13 season, which is CSUB’s final as a member of the PCSC. The Roadrunners will be competing in the Western Athletic Conference beginning in the 2013-14 season.
A total of 72 student-athletes from the PCSC’s seven member schools made the honor roll, which required at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the 2012-13 academic year. Three schools placed at least 10 players on the honor roll. San Diego placed a PCSC-high 15, followed by BYU with 13 and Loyola Marymount with 10. CSUB placed nine on the list including three-time honorees Laura King (R-Sr., Camarillo, Calif., UNLV) and Amy Ricciardi (Jr., Chino Hills, Calif., Ayala HS). Taylor DeSilva (Jr., Sunnyvale, Calif., Univ. of Pacific) was honored for the second consecutive year. First-year Roadrunners Madison Bundy (So., Anacortes, Wash., Oregon State), Kara Frankhouser (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield College), Kelsie Monroe (So., Los Baños, Calif., Delta College), Sydney Raeber (Fr., Hanford, Calif., Hanford HS) and Makenzie Zinger (Fr., Visalia, Calif., Redwood HS) were all named to the Honor Roll for the first time.
Ten CSUB softball players were honored in 2012 in Head Coach Crissy Buck’s first year at the helm of the program. She’s now had 19 student-athletes earn spots on the PCSC honor roll in her tenure.
