BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--Bakersfield head volleyball coach Jolene Shepardson released the 2013 schedule, the first for the Roadrunners in the Western Athletic Conference, June 20.

"We have a solid championship preseason schedule this Fall to prepare for our first year in the WAC," Shepardson said.

The Roadrunners will have nine home matches including an eight-match homestand that begins Oct. 3 against Chicago State. UMKC (Oct. 5), Utah Valley (Oct. 10), New Mexico State (Oct. 17), UTPA (Oct. 19) Seattle University (Oct. 24), and Idaho (Oct. 26) come to the Icardo Center during 23-day stand. San Jose State rounds out the stretch with a non-conference match on Oct. 13. The final home game occurs Nov. 9 as Grand Canyon comes to Bakersfield.

The ‘Runners open the season with a week long roadtrip to North Carolina and Virginia. CSUB opens the year at Davidson College Wildcat Classic Aug. 30-31. Bakersfield travels 141 miles to Radford for a single match Sept. 4. The Roadrunners conclude the roadie by going 150 miles to James Madison for a tournament Sept. 6-7.

CSUB also competes in the Fresno State Tournament Sept. 13-14. The final non-conference matches of September occur Sept. 20 and 22 when CSUB heads to Long Beach State and UC Davis.

The WAC Tournament will be played Nov. 25-27 in Phoenix at Grand Canyon.

"October is the month to come check us out as we have two home matches every week. With everyone returning and adding three key players to our roster, this will be a successful opening year for us in the WAC."
