HOBOKEN, NJ- Jim Darling has been selected as Nelligan Sports Marketing General Manager of The Year for the 2012-13 season as announced by NSM Vice President Mark Devine at the company's national meeting.

Darling manages the implement and execution of corporate sponsorships for Bakersfield Athletics and recently completed his first season working with the Roadrunners. NSM  represents 36 universities across the country, including CSUB. The GM's of Louisville and Long Beach State also received NSM national awards.

CSUB Athletics outsourced the corporate sponsorship responsibilities to NSM in 2011. Darling was selected by NSM in June of 2012 to head up the corporate sponsorships for CSUB, since his appointment,  he has brought in numerous new sponsors for the program which will be entering the Western Athletic Conference on July 1.

The Bakersfield native also has been a member of the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund Board the past five years, helping to raise money for athletic scholarships.
