SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Senior Daniel Richardson (Surrey, England, Reedley College) followed his America Sky Conference Championship opening round of 72 on Monday with another even round of 72 on Tuesday and remains tied for sixth place heading into Wednesday’s final 18 holes.

Richardson was in a six-way tie for sixth place entering Tuesday’s round at The Dominion Country Club. Now he is in a three-way tie for sixth and is only three strokes behind Binghamton’s Bryce Edmister (70-71-141).

CSUB sophomore Dylan Lym (Evanston, Wyo., Evanston HS) shaved seven strokes off of his opening round score of 78 to card a 71 on Tuesday and is now tied for 23rd place with a 149. Lym recorded five birdies to help lower his score. Junior Chase Goodvin (Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) bounced back from a rough round of 85 on Monday by posting a 12-stroke improvement of 73 to move from 55th place up to a tie for 45th.

After two days and 36 holes, the Roadrunners are in eighth place out of 12 teams with a 605 (310-295). With the 15-stroke reduction from Monday, CSUB moved up from ninth to eighth.

“Overall, we played much better today,” said CSUB head coach Dave Barber. “Dan got an even round, Dylan had a one-under and Chase came back with a 73. It was much better, but we need everyone to play well tomorrow.”

Senior Matt Hammons (Bakersfield, Calif., Highland HS) is tied for 37th place with a two-day total of 155 (76-79) and senior Patrick Bell (Manchester, England, Reedley College) is in 54th place with a 168 (84-84).

Southern Utah is atop the team leaderboard with a 2-over 581 (296-285), holding on to a one-stroke lead in a tournament where an automatic bid to NCAA Regional Championships on May 16-18 is hanging in the balance. The lowest-scoring team, as well as the lowest-scoring individual not on the first-place team, will earn the bids.
