SAN MARCOS, Texas—Kevin Sah’s double with the bases loaded capped off a four-run Texas State rally in the bottom of the fourth to push the Bobcats past Bakersfield 11-5 in the Western Athletic Conference baseball series finale Sunday afternoon.

Texas State (20-23, 11-7 WAC) took the series from the Roadrunners two games to one, marking the first time this season Bakersfield (29-16, 12-6 WAC) has lost a league series.

Tyler Shryock (Jr., Tehachapi, Calif., Desert Christian HS) gave Bakersfield a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when he doubled in Oscar Sanay (Jr., Chula Vista, Calif., Bonita Vista HS). The Bobcats took the lead in the bottom of the first when Andrew Stumph and Austin O’Neal recorded RBI’s.

Sanay’s single in the top of the second scored Frank Martinez (Sr., Riverside, Calif., East LA College) and Chance Gusbeth (Fr., Lancaster, Calif., Desert Christian HS) for a 3-1 CSUB lead. The Roadrunners scored an unearned run in the top of the fourth before what proved to be the game winning hit for Sah.

Texas State scored three times in the sixth, twice more in the seventh, and once in the eighth. Gusbeth added an RBI single in the top of the seventh.

CSUB left at least two runners on bases three times during the game. Sanay had three hits while Shryock and Mylz Jones (Fr., Palmdale, Calif., Paraclete HS) each recorded two hits.

Bakersfield travels to Fresno State Tuesday night for a 6:35 p.m. start.
