SAN JOSE, Calif.--No. 9 San Jose State used a five-goal fourth quarter to power past CSU Bakersfield 15-7 Saturday.

CSUB battled back from a 7-1 deficit to close to within to 9-7 with 2:46 to go in the third quarter. The Spartans (11-10, 1-5 MPSF) recorded the final six goals to win the match and earn the No. 6 seed at next week's MPSF Tournament. The Roadrunners (12-22, 0-6 MPSF) will be the No. 7 seed at the MPSF Tournament.

Rae Lekness scored six goals for the Spartans. Anna Natalizio had five for San Jose State. Nicola Barrett (Fr., Cape Town, South Africa, Rustenburg HS) scored three goals. Sam Shead (Sr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Rand Park HS) and Janelle Shelby (So., San Diego, Calif., Grossmont HS) both scored twice for CSUB.

CSUB will face USC, the No. 2 seed at the MPSF Tournament next Friday at 11 a.m. The tournament will be played at the University of California.
