KENT, Washington- With just two games remaining in their collegiate careers CSUB seniors Tyrone White (Portland, Ore., North Idaho CC) and Stephon Carter (Bakersfield, Calif., Garces HS) are making sure they leave on a high note as White scored a game-high 27 points and Carter hit a game-winning 14-foot jumper with two seconds remaining as Bakersfield defeated Seattle University 75-74 in overtime.

Carter missed the end of regulation with cramping but returned at the right moment getting a tipped ball in the mid post and pulling the trigger with just seconds remaining as CSUB (13-16) defeated future WAC foe Seattle (8-20) for the first time at the Division I level.

"I'm proud of these guys, we were off 11 days, we had several guys that were cramping and hurting but to pull out this win was a great win on the road," said CSUB head coach Rod Barnes. "I'm just thankful for this group of guys, the effort we had tonight, the big shots we made just were huge."

White set the pace early for the 'Runners with 14 first-half points including four three-pointers. He wouldn't stop making them in the second half either connecting on a career-high 7 of 13 attempts as he fell one point shy of his career-high 28 set against Westmont earlier this season.

"I thought Tyrone had a special night tonight and we had some really good performances," Barnes said. "It was truly a team effort with the win."

The Roadrunners trailed by as many as six in the first half but went on a 10-4 run to take the lead following a Brandon Barnes dunk on a lob pass from Javonte Maynor. Barnes finished the game with 19 points and 11 rebounds while CSUB held a 27-26 lead at half.

Bakersfield would lead by as many as eight in the second half but 11 second-half turnovers allowed Seattle right back into the game as they tied the contest with a Prince Obasi layup with 11 seconds remaining. Following a long inbound, a Corey Hall (Jr., Chicago Ill., Ventura CC) layup rimmed out as time expired forcing overtime. It was the third time in four games CSUB has played an overtime game.

In overtime CSUB led 73-71 with just 42 seconds remaining before Seattle's Chad Rasmussen made a deep three-pointer to give the Redhawks the lead with just 22 seconds remaining. Carter would then receive the ball on the left side following a tipped pass from Britton Williams (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) and hit the game winner for the 'Runners.

The win marks the first time this season that the Roadrunners have won three-straight games. It had been 11 days off between games for CSUB. The game was played at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Wash., as part of the ShoWare College Classic and marked the first time to NCAA Division I teams played against each other in the four-year-old facility.

CSUB closes out their season Saturday night at another future WAC foe Utah Valley with a 7 P.M. (MST) tip off scheduled in Orem.
