BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball women's basketball team goes for its 10th consecutive victory Saturday at future WAC opponent New Mexico State.

This is the first meeting between CSUB (11-15) and New Mexico State  in women’s basketball. The Aggies (11-14) have won two in a row including a 106-94 decision over Utah State last Saturday in Las Cruces. Stefanie Gilbreath, who leads the team in scoring (16.7) and rebounding (6.7) had 27 against Utah State.

CSU Bakersfield recorded its ninth consecutive victory by defeating Chicago State 72-54 Feb. 16. CSUB has won nine in a row dating back to a Jan. 3 loss to Fresno State, breaking the 2010-11 school Division I record for consecutive wins in a season.

During the streak, the Roadrunners’ average margin of victory is 12.7 points. CSUB is shooting 43.4% from the floor, compared to 37.2% for the entire season. The Roadrunners are averaging 76 poing per game during the streak as compared to 66.8 for the season.

Amber Williams (Sr., Fontana, Calif., Etiwanda HS) is averaging 19.6 points during the streak. Janae Coffee (R-So., Fresno, Calif., Long Beach State) is averaging 14.7 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in the span. Coffee was chosen CollegeSportsMadness Independent Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Feb. 18 after averaging a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in two wins during the week.
