BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield baseball team (2-1) welcomes Hofstra to Hardt Field for a four-game series this weekend.
This is the first time CSU Bakersfield and Hofstra will be playing in baseball. It is only the third time the Roadrunners are playing a team from the state of New York in the 4+ year history of the program (Univ. of Buffalo and Stony Brook are the others).
Hofstra dropped four games at No. 14 Oklahoma last weekend in Norman. The Pride lost the middles games of the series by one run including a 11-10 decision in 11 innings in game two of Saturday’s doubleheader. Austin Nyman is leading the team in hitting (.294) and RBI’s (4).
Mother Nature is 2-0 against CSUB this season as the games scheduled for Feb. 19-20 against Cal State Northridge were postponed due to weather.
The game scheduled for Feb. 19 in Bakersfield will be made up Wednesday, Apr. 10 at 6 p.m. at Hardt Field. The game scheduled for Feb. 20 in Northridge will be made up but a time and date have not been finalized.
The Roadrunners will play their first 11 games at home in Hardt Field this season. 32 of the 55 scheduled CSUB games will be played in Bakersfield.
